Set Your Intention Meditation
Your energy flows where your intention goes. If you do not know where you are going, how do you do your best to get there? A strong and clear intention provides a framework for you to set priorities, use your time wisely, and align yourself with the resources you need to manifest your goals. An intention is a powerfully energetic tool to take your yoga practice off your mat and into your life.
You can set an intention in any area of your life – physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. It brings your attention and awareness to a quality or virtue you wish to cultivate, like patience, gratitude, grace, love, forgiveness, letting go, releasing negativity, self-awareness, being open to change, inner strength, or inner peace.
By setting an intention, a bridge is built between what you work through on your mat, and what you continue to focus your mind on when you step off of your mat.
This meditation was inspired by a Ted talk by Melanie Richards. You can practise this meditation in the morning and evening. The morning practice gathers your energy for the day ahead, while the evening practice releases mental clutter so you can get a restful sleep at night.
